Our promise

Lendifi guides are written to help you make a good decision, not to push you toward a loan. Sometimes the right answer is not to borrow at all, and our guides say so.

Section 1

Who writes our guides

Lendifi's guides are written and reviewed by Lendifi's founder. Where a guide includes a personal story, it is the founder's real experience (see why Lendifi exists). We do not invent stories, quotes, or reviews.

Some drafts are prepared with the help of AI writing tools. The founder reviews every guide, checks the math and the sources, and approves it before it is published.

Section 2

How we research

  • Sources. We rely on primary sources where we can, such as the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and lenders' own published terms. When a guide uses a number from a source, it names that source.
  • Math. Payment, interest, and payoff examples are calculated with standard loan formulas and labeled as examples. They are not quotes.
  • Plain language. We aim for writing a high school student can follow, and we explain terms like APR and origination fee when we use them.
Section 3

Independence from partners

Lendifi is paid by lending partners (see how we make money). Partners do not write, review, or approve our guides, and paying us does not buy better coverage.

We will not recommend payday loans, car title loans, or tribal lenders in our guides, because their costs usually make a debt problem worse.

Section 4

What we will not say

  • We will not promise that you will be approved, get an offer, or get a certain rate.
  • We will not promise that a loan will raise your credit score.
  • We will not say a partner's process has no effect on your credit. Lendifi does not pull your credit, but lenders you continue with may.
  • We will not publish made-up testimonials or reviews.
Section 5

Updates and corrections

Each guide shows the month it was last updated. We review guides when rates, rules, or data change. If you find an error, email hello@lendifi.io and we will fix it and update the date.

Section 6

Not financial advice

Our guides are general education. They are not personal financial, legal, or tax advice. For advice about your own situation, talk to a qualified professional or a nonprofit credit counselor.
